August

1 August, 2pm-4pm, Summer Serenade, The Witham, Barnard Castle,

 £ Pay what you feel

Grab a drink at the pop up bar and enjoy some beautiful music in the sunshine!  I'll be performing a varied programme of my favourite classical and musical theatre songs, including music by Mozart, Vaughan Williams, George Gershwin, John Rutter and a sprinkling of Disney magic.

At 3pm, I'll take a break from singing and lead my friends from the Northern Heartlands choir in their performance of songs from our community opera Song of our Heartland

This a fundraising performance for The Witham community arts centre, and during my solo performance we'll be splitting all donations 50/50.

2 August, 7.30- 8.30pm, Summer Singing Course: Workshop 2, Telling the Story, Richmond Catholic Church, £5.00 (book by 30 June)

The way we use our words in singing can transform our performances into something magical. In this workshop, you'll learn how to use your vowel and consonant sounds to your best advantage. I'll help you to bring out your inner storyteller so that you and your audience can really enjoy the message of the music you sing.

Rhythm is the backbone of music - without it, everything else becomes a bit floppy! In this session, we'll explore some rhythmic principles that apply to all music, and enjoy some of the fun and unusual rhythms in Gerald Finzi's music.

One of the most common things singers ask for help with is high notes. This session will help you relax into the notes at the top of your range and make a rich, full sound in a way that's kind to your voice.
