"I really enjoy my lessons with Rosie. She is so supportive and encourages me all the time." Sophia

Music at all ages

Wherever you or your child are up to on your musical journey, I'm here to help you along. I specialise in helping adult singers grow their confidence.

I coach lovely people aged 4 to 75+ in singing, piano and valved brass instruments, from beginners to advanced level.

I also help people with music theory, composing & songwriting, GCSE & A level music, and to prepare for auditions and ABRSM , Rockschool and Trinity Rock & Pop music exams.

"Thank you for coaching me for my Rock School Diploma. The recording went really well, including the high notes, which I was really surprised about, as I usually have such a low voice! " Kirsty

Kirsty is now studying music at Cambridge University- well done Kirsty!

My main studio is at the brilliant TCR Hub in Barnard Castle. I'm there Monday to Thursday in the afternoons and evenings. I also coach in schools,  and online.

"Thank you for being my teacher and mentor. I have learned so much and become more than  thought I could be because of you."

Adam, pianist, 14

To see if music coaching with me is a good fit for you, your child, or your school, please get in touch and I'll be very pleased to talk to you.

Music is Fun!

I firmly believe that when you laugh, you learn, so I use fun and varied techniques to help my students understand music more deeply. I really love helping people feel good and get confident.

Rosie was so enthusiastic and complimentary about my singing that it gave me much needed confidence. Rosie helped me to revisit my breathing, how to emphasise certain words to better tell the ‘story’ and most off all how to ENJOY my singing. I can’t thank Rosie enough for the experience and the techniques that I learnt." Astley

In our studio, we enjoy exploring all sorts of musical styles, including classical, pop, musical theatre and jazz. I encourage my students to improvise and write their own music too (read my blog to find out why this is so good for you!)

"A very big thank you for everything you have taught me. For the laughter, your endless patience, and different techniques to help me- you're the best!" Imogen, pianist, 25

I encourage all my students to perform with as many other musicians as possible, and to join bands and choirs. It's a great way to develop your skills, have fun and make new friends.

"Learning with Rosie is entirely at your own pace , and I would say to anyone thinking about it to give it a go. I can honestly say after each session I have been energised and happy to be learning new skills and it has given me something to look forward to each week." Pauline

In my studio, and the choir I conduct,  I'll help you build your confidence by trying a variety of new things in a safe and supportive environment.

Rosie I must compliment you on your expertise, and the knowledge and understanding you have given me. I have gained a new confidence in myself, that I never knew I had. Thank you! " Michael

Coaching for Choirs

"The practical advice for whole body awareness, engaging the correct muscles in singing posture and breathing techniques were really helpful. I find myself sitting straighter just thinking about it!"  Jan

Give the Gift of Music

Your generosity could help someone to enjoy the lifelong health benefits, confidence and friendships that music brings.

Me c.1991, aged 7 practicing my school trumpet.

My school lessons were subsidised by my school, so they were free for me and my friends. Unfortunately, this is much less usual now, and I have some gifted students whose families are not currently able to pay for lessons.

If you'd like to talk to me about supporting an individual student or our free to access community choir,  please get in touch with me for a chat about how you can help.

I have a lot of fun teaching in Montalbo School and Teesdale School in Barnard Castle. If you'd like to talk to me about coaching in your school, please get in touch.
